(Risovaya kasha s tykvoy)
- 0.7 lbs peeled pumpkin
- 1.5 tablespoons sugar
- 2 oz butter
- 1 cup rice
- 2 cups water
- 0.5 teaspoons salt
Chop the pumpkin into medium cubes.
Place into a thick-bottomed pan.
Add the butter.
Pour in the sugar.
Place the pan on the stove.
Cook the pumpkin in the butter for 4-5 minutes, stirring periodically.
Add the rice and mix well to combine all ingredients.
Sprinkle with the salt.
Pour in the water.
Bring to a boil.
Cook for 7 minutes after boiling.
Take the pan off the stove and cover.
Let the kasha sit covered for 10-15 minutes.
Carefully stir the rice with a fork and serve.
